Castle Day!

In Füssen, Germany we visited Neuschwanstein Castle, the architectural masterpiece of Mad King Ludwig.

Martin our guide set up a special bike rental for our group. The rental shop wasn't open that day, but he was able to call his acquaintance and got us all set up with bikes and helmets. We enjoyed a ride around Lake Forggensee with magical views of the castles and countryside. Something we'd never have been able to do without Martin!

Food & Hats

Rick's book suggests the Pike caught in the Lech river. We decided to give it a try, and I'm not ashamed to say that we ordered the exact same thing the next night (why mess with perfection?).

We also indulged in my favorite German street food here, currywurst. You really can't beat a fried sausage topped with curry sauce as a captsone to some exceptional sight seeing. (Also please enjoy the hat my father purchased when we weren't looking.).

Fussen is where we celebrated my parent's 40th wedding anniversary. Here they are sporting some congratulatory bunny ears on the morning of the big day.
